LEICESTER skipper Danny King produced a steady performance in the 2018 Sports Insure British Final.
Despite suffering from an arm injury in recent weeks, the 2016 British Champion was able to register two wins from his opening three rides.
But a last place in his second outing and two further third places weren’t enough to see him through to the semi-Finals on the night, finishing on eight points.
Said King: “The arm seems to be taking a long time to heal but we’re working hard behind the scenes to speed up the recovery time as much as we possibly can.
“The last place in my second one didn’t help at all.
“It’s a funny track though; if you’re not gating it can be tough.
“It’s important you find speed and keep it set-up all night.
“It just wasn’t enough on the night.”
The meeting was won by Great Britain international Robert Lambert who completed a six-ride maximum.
